Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: Ephesians 1:3.
All spiritual blessings consist of, vv 4-13
-Chosen us in Him
-Blameless in Him
-Adopted us in Him
-We have been accepted in Him
-We have forgiveness of sins
-We have obtained an inheritance
-We were predestined
-Sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
Looking at what God has done for us; Spiritual blessings in Christ sums up the Christian’s position and it is available now. Every need that could ever exist God, our Father has taken care of it, it is included in all spiritual blessings, and we are to claim them. God has predestined us which is an appointed plan and guaranteed destiny for all that are redeemed. God is a planner; this grace for grace he has given because we have been accepted in the beloved in Christ, and we have redemption through His blood, which offers forgiveness of sins. The mystery of God’s will has been revealed and we are looking at it. That is the dispensation of the fullness of time; God our Father did this through arrangement of the affairs of history. Gods’ counsel will stand. The Word says it was the Counsel of His will, His eternal unchangeable plan that we are accepted in the beloved. We are sealed with authority in Jesus Name. The Holy Spirit is our guarantee of our inheritance.
The Apostle Paul prays for the Ephesians to have clear perception and understanding and to know the exceeding greatness of His power. The Holy Spirit is all of these, as well as the heart receiving the brightness of hope of Gods’ investment in us; God seated Christ in heavenly places and I am so happy to know I am there also. He is not just speaking of our final destination, He is talking about our present day situation. We are born of His Spirit and therefore we are there spiritually. The Authority God gave to Jesus exceeds every known power, He is above every political demon and master spirit. Christ is the head over His body the church. We the church is the present physical presence of Christ here on this earth and the church is to be filled with the Holy Spirit. vv 15-23.
This is the beginning of a study in the book of Ephesians, I taught this class over 16 years ago and the Lord prompted me teach it again at this time. I will be posting a new article twice a month for a while. This is lesson one on chapter one.
